50 Cent on music and mixtapes.

50 Cent said the following quote in a new xxl interview. I feel the same way......."50 Cent: When I was in the mixtape circuit, there was a lot going on. I was able to take things that I wish I made myself and do ’em over. Now it’s not a lot of shit out there I would do over. I’m like, Nah, that ain’t even it right there. You know what I’m saying? When Black Rob had “Whoa!,” I wish that was my record. I wish “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,” by Busta Rhymes, was my record. Fuckin’ “Lean Back,” I wish that was mine. You see what I’m saying? And you know me and Fat Joe don’t get along. You know what I’m saying? But to the culture, when you have those moments… And I’m sure they’ll tell you they wish they had “In Da Club” and “P.I.M.P.”

In da club sure but not sure about p.i.m.p. it was popular at the time but it wasn't a great song. but regardless, he makes a great point. i like making music for the heck of it and when i hear something clever i'm like I could've thought of that be he beat me to it or whatever. for example, she needs me by kenrick lamar. most songs i make are for my girl and that song would have been perfect for her

Mayne i wish he got 50 on the When Ya On.. nipsey was nice but with 50 i feel like it could have been alot bigger and it was prefect for both of them.

Ryan Hood

I agree with 50 on this.

Man...eventhough I don't like the dude...50's right on this one...the best mixtapes can make you forget about the original song...Successful by Drake came on the radio the other day and all I could think was...damn...Cham was way hotter on this beat. ahha.

Man...50 becomes adult...not listening to his music that much but i like him

Everybody wished they had In Da Club.....Dr. Dre wish he had In Da Club, to be honest doing 14 million on his first album I would think anybody would have wished to have had at least 4 to 5 of those tracks on their own album....In Da Club, Many Men, 21 Questions, BackDown, If I Cant, Patiently Waiting

If anyone has any position to speak on it, he deffinitely does. When you hear an instrumental that immediately speaks, a lot of people wish it was theirs. Mixtapes was such a great idea to hear all these different takes on the same beat

Infamous Legacy

So true 50
