100 out of 100 emails have one thing in common. The word "FAN." Im glad you are a fan if you are. 

I know the word FAN does not mean Loyalty. Just like you can be a FAN of the Heat, the next day you can be a FAN of the Clippers if you want. I mean its like.... what's a Seattle Supersonic FAN supposed to do? They used to be pretty good and they aren't here anymore. F@ck Em anyway. Yea thats it, they suck. Thats the way the world we live in works today. Just because you were a good defender yesterday doesn't mean you can't be the guy that was posterized by Blake Griffin today. Just because you were not in the big leagues or on the injured list for an entire season, it doesn't mean you can't shine whenever its your time to get in the game. 

 

All you can do if you are a player is try your best. 

Even if you were the fan favorite that becomes the villain at some later point in your career, that doesn't mean you can't be a champion later. 

Practice in the offseason. Train. Get better. Go try to win. 

If you are a bench player you can only practice hard until your moment comes to be a starter. When you get in the game you have to use your skill to prove that you are worth the attention. You can't focus on always trying to be everyone's favorite. When fans in the stands are yelling at you the best thing you can do is just use it for motivation. It's part of the game. The same people that say they will no longer support the NBA when there is lockout, will be the same people jumping through the roof in excitement when ______ hits that fadeaway shot. Yea, they wont even remember the lockout. It will almost seem like it never happened. They respect the moment while you live for the future. They won't know what you had to do to get into that position when you get there. They might not even care if you tell your story in the form of a witty basketball analogy. Telling them wont even be enough for them to completely fathom anyways.  

Sometimes you will be on the bench. Sometimes you will be taking the last shot. 

Just make sure whatever you are doing is worth the wait. 

Get in the game when you feel you are ready and not one second earlier. No matter what they say. If you lose. You will be lost. 

Know what you want to do. Follow your own advice. Stay in your own lane. Trust your own gut. You will do well. Even if you don't, just try to do well the next time.
